The Owl and The Vampire Bat

The boys did not want to get out of bed this morning. I repeatedly entered their room and told them to get up. I finally walked in and found them talking quietly to each other, in a conspiring manner. I told them that they absolutely needed to get out of bed. They looked at me seriously and said, "Mom, we have decided to be nocturnal."

You might think, "Wow! What an amazing mom! She has already taught her four- and six-year-old boys what nocturnal means." You are mistaken. Everything they know, they learned from Wild Kratts.
Best. Show. Ever.

Now it is bedtime and the kids are reluctant to go to bed. They tried the strategy again, "But mom, can't we stay up? We are nocturnal!"

I asked what kind of nocturnal animals they were (since humans are not naturally nocturnal).
Kedrick said "Owl!"
Victor said, "Bat!" (the ones that suck blood, of course)

Despite their creativity and their excellent appeal, they are still going to bed. Now.
