About Eva: 4 months

Eva had her four month checkup today. She received a couple of immunizations and was much braver this time. She only cried when she got them, but recovered her joy quickly. She is a very happy little girl. She laughs and talks often. She is very fun!!

Stats:

Weight: 14 pounds, 15 ounces - 75%

Height: 24 1/4 inches - 50%

Head Circumference: 40 1/2 cm - 40%

Eva rolled over from her back to tummy this evening all by herself! She's done it a few times before but only with much prompting and practice. This time she did it alone, without any encouragement from me.

She won't take a bottle. We've given up. She won't even try. One look at it and she screams like crazy.

Eva goes to the nursery at church now. She does really well and all the nursery workers love her. They are all so sweet!

I REALLY have no idea where he came up with it. The kid is a comedian.

He also started saying "Ta-ta" for goodbye.

Art

Kedrick is an artist. Both boys are very creative. However, if I put paper and markers in front of them, they seem to be only capable of scribbling. But when they really want to be artistic, they are well able.

This is my very favorite face that Kedrick has drawn, and yet, I can't save it. So a picture will have to do (yes, that's his leg).

Easter

We had an eventful Easter weekend this year.

We dyed eggs on Saturday morning.

That afternoon we went to Damie's Dad's house for an early Easter dinner.

Jonah and Dinosaurs

At lunch today, Kedrick once again told us the story of Jonah. He got to the part where the whale spits Jonah out on dry land.

Kedrick said, "Then he told the people."

I asked, "What did Jonah tell the people?"

Kedrick stopped and thought for a moment, then said,

"He told them that dinosaurs aren't real."

Where Does He Come Up With This Stuff?

Victor brought his breakfast dish up to the counter this morning, and said to me, "Here you go, Your Majesty!"

"It's not fair!"

I didn't expect to hear these words so soon, especially from my just-barely-three-year-old. Kedrick got a marshmallow for using the potty (woohoo Kedrick!). Victor wanted one too. I told him he could have one when he went poo-poo in the potty. He screamed, "I don't want to use the potty! I want a marshmallow! It's not fair!"

Where did he learn that?

Gamers

The boys love to play video games. I'm amazed at how quickly they figured out how to use the computer. This is a shot of the little gamers early one morning, playing games on our iPhones as Damie and I enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee.

One Determined Little Girl

During tummy time a few days ago, I showed Eva how to roll over from her tummy to her back. We practiced a few times, then I put her in position to do it herself. She worked and worked at it, turning her hips and swinging and kicking her leg. She was grunting and even crying a bit, but didn't give up. I gave her a little nudge a few times, but eventually she did it all by herself! I was amazed at her tenacity. She is a very determined little girl.

As predicted, I caught her sucking her thumb a few times. She still mostly sucks her fist, but sometimes she finds her thumb. Pretty darn cute!
